Please return your ocarina & book to the office if you are not continuing with lessons this term, thank you.

Monday 7th December 2015

Our Christmas concert will be on the last day of term – you should have had a letter about timings & what will be happening – parents/carers, please ensure your child has their ocarina & book in school. The children are really looking forward to showing you all what they have learned!

Just to give you advance warning, in January Ocarina Club will change to a Thursday or possibly a Friday 3.15-4.15pm until half term – a decision will be made before the end of term. If students wish to continue with lessons, we would encourage you to purchase their ocarina & books from the office, if finances allow.

Any children who does not wish to continue next term – please can you hand ocarina & books back into school (in a suitable condition for other children to use)  DIRECTLY AFTER the concert, thank you.

Friday 18th September

First Session of 2015-2016

We had a super session on Tuesday with 20 children coming along, some beginners, some returners which is wonderful! Xander did a lovely solo & helped to explain how to hold & play the ocarina correctly, thanks for that, Xander, you were great!

As there has been so much interest, we have decided to split into 2 groups with all Y1 players coming on Friday. We have 12 Year 1’s who have signed up, which is wonderful. I am looking forward to meeting them all today – if others wish to have a go, I think we have room currently for 3 more.

Ocarina Club will start on again on Thursday 17th September 3.15 – 4.15pm for Years 2 – 4 (initially) as long as there is sufficient interest.
Everyone is welcome and ocarinas & books can be purchased from school for £10 or if you wish to trial the club for the first 6 weeks, then you can borrow an ocarina & book from me (Miss Bennett) at the first session and, as long as you return with items in resaleable condition, you will not be charged.

I would like to thank all the ocarina players for trying so hard last school year, they amazed everyone who heard them and I look forward to seeing them all again soon. In the meantime, here are a coupe of clips from our final concert for the 2014-2015 year when they performed two concerts, one in front of the whole school and then another for parents, just before the Easter holidays:

October 2014

Thank you all so much for coming along to support the Ocarina players today (we will get a bigger venue for our next concert!)  I’m sure you all enjoyed it, I know the children did, they were buzzing with excitement! I think they all did tremendously well, especially the Y1’s who have only had their 3rd lesson today – amazing!

Please could you make sure the children have their ocarinas & music books in school for Monday when they will be performing in front of the rest of the school.
